With Coventry’s Dame extraordinaire, Andy Hockley in the title role, this year’s Belgrade panto promises unbeatable fairytale fun, magical enchantment and egg-scruciating jokes and japes by the dozen.

The story follows Mother Goose and her two sons, Jack and Archie as they embark on a spectacular journey to save the village of Middle Widdle-on-the-Tiddle from the wicked schemes of Squire Spartikus Skinflint and the villainous Demon King.

As ever, the tale will be told in the very best Belgrade panto tradition with elaborate and beautifully designed stage sets, incredible costumes and a helping hand from the audience.

Steve Boden from Imagine Theatre, who co-produce the Belgrade pantomime, said, “Mother Goose is a great panto with a really strong battle between ‘good’ and ‘evil’ at its core. Andy Hockley is such a great Dame and has always wanted to play Mother Goose as it’s the Dame’s panto. This year’s production promises to be one of the most spectacular ever staged at the theatre. The scenery and costumes are amazing and without giving too much away, there will be plenty of comedy and slapstick fun including a very messy decorating scene.

Steve added, “Our new designer Mark Walters has created an amazing pop-up story book set which includes a spectacular waterfall, a creepy demons lair and a magical midnight flight of our heroine Mother Goose.”

Mother Goose has once again been created by the tried and trusted team of Iain Lauchlan and Will Brenton, the creators of children’s TV phenomenon The Tweenies. The Belgrade’s much-loved Dame, Andy Hockley, will also be returning for his 16th Belgrade pantomime.
