Local band Goodnight Lenin have announced they will be performing at a number of festivals over the summer, including several slots at Glastonbury.

The band were formed in 2009 and were soon asked to open the Sing From Ye’ Hillsides Festival curated by one of their great influences, British Sea Power.  They went on to play Bestival and Moseley Folk Festival, where they headlined the second stage putting them on directly before Donovan.

During 2010, they released their debut single Crook In the Creek via Static Caravan, selling out the Hare & Hounds, Kings Heath, for its launch. The band rounded off the year with a gig at St Paul’s Church in Birmingham which also sold out well in advance.
