West Midlands chefs head to BBC Good Food Show

There’s still time to head to the NEC.

The chefs behind some of the West Midlands most respected restaurants will be heading to the NEC this weekend for the BBC Good Food Show Winter, and showing off their skills alongside some the UK’s best known celebrity chefs.

The festive foodie event runs until Sunday 1st December, and seven of the region’s top chefs will be on stage for live cookery demonstrations and giving out their top tips. Brad Carter, from Michelin starred Carters of Moseley and Saturday Kitchen, will be appearing for his fifth consecutive show.

Brand new to the Show will be Lichfield native Liam Dillon who operates the highly-acclaimed Boat Inn. Also joining the line-up is Harvey Perttolla, head chef at Birmingham city centre fine dining establishment Maribel.

Showcasing the diversity of the independent options in the region, Mike Bullard from The Butcher’s Social, Munayam Khan from the Lasan Group and Jaques Van Der Merwe of the soon-to-open Jaques Restaurant will all be bringing their unique cooking styles to the BBC Good Food Show.

There will also be a special appearance from Great British Menu star Nick Deverell-Smith, the Warwickshire-born, Birmingham-trained proprietor of Gloucestershire restaurant Churchill Arms.

The best chefs in the region will be joined by the UK’s biggest cookery stars, with Mary Berry, James Martin, Nadiya Hussain and many more heading to Birmingham to kick start the festive season. As well as the top chefs, there will hundreds of Midlands-based producers selling off-the-high-street food and drink – the ideal Christmas gift for foodies.

Brad Carter commented: “It’s fantastic to see local talent joining the line-up for this year’s BBC Good Food Show – for a lot of them it will be their first ever Show. The event is the biggest festive food and drink event in the UK, so I’m looking forward to representing our wonderful region!”
