Things heating up ahead of Brindleyplace Chilli Festival

Hot stuff to provide help for children in emergency care.

Things are heating up at Brindleyplace next month with the return of the annual Chilli Festival on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th September.

Taking place between 11am and 4pm in Central Square, the Festival includes a chilli themed food and drink market, live music and fiery entertainment throughout the day.

This year, the Chilli Festival will be raising temperatures in aid of Brindleyplace charity partner, The Buddy Bag Foundation, showcasing the work they do to provide Buddy Bags for children in emergency care in the Midlands. On Saturday, visitors will also be able to do their bit and help pack a Buddy Bag with essentials such as pyjamas and toiletries, as well as home comforts like a book or teddy.

Stacey Muir, Marketing Executive at Brindleyplace, said: “2018 is set to be the hottest summer on record but we’re expecting September to be another scorcher thanks to the annual Chilli Festival at Brindleyplace.

“Not only will visitors will be able to spice up their lives with fiery food and drink from the chilli produce market, there’ll be flaming hot performances for the whole family to enjoy, as well as live music.”

Karen Williams, Founder of The Buddy Bag Foundation, added: “Every Buddy Bag that we pack makes a difference to a child in emergency, helping to restore a sense of safety and security to those fleeing violent situations at home. As such, we’re thrilled to be part of the Chilli Festival this year raising awareness of the work we do and even putting visitors packing skills to the test.”
