Glazing firm recognized for level of skills training.

Sandwell Business Ambassadors presented Howells Patent Glazing the Commitment to Apprenticeships award at this month’s Sandwell Business Awards, due to its high level of dedication to ongoing skills training.

For the third year running, the Sandwell Business Awards recognised and celebrated the achievements of innovative people and businesses in Sandwell.

The awards, presented by ITV Central presenter Sameena Ali-Khan, took place on Thursday July 12th and is organised annually by the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, Sandwell Business Solutions Centre, Sandwell College and Sandwell Council to recognise the achievements of local businesses.

Sandwell Business Ambassador, Alan Taylor, presented the award to Howells Patent Glazing. Besides being a business ambassador for the local community, Alan is the managing director of MiGlass, a local manufacturing company who sponsored and made the eye-catching trophies that were awarded to the winners of each of the seven categories at the awards.

Mr Taylor said: “It was an honour to present the award to such a brilliant company at what was an extremely enjoyable evening.

“The ambassadors are passionate about supporting the borough’s ambitions to develop its business base, and a key part of this is addressing the skills gap through apprenticeships, so it was great to sponsor a category that rewards businesses with the same goal.”
