Jazz exhibition set for New Street

Jazz festival photos to grace city station.

The Exhibition of Photography from this year’s Birmingham, Solihull & Sandwell Jazz Festival will feature on the main concourse of New Station from December 1st 2017 to January 31st 2018.

It will display more than 50 photographs taken during the festival, in the project sponsored by Calthorpe Estates, who are celebrating their 300th anniversary this year. The leader of the project was Dutch photographer Merlin Daleman whose work regularly features in two leading Dutch daily newspapers, who is twice winner of the Silver Camera Award for Best Documentary photographer in Holland.

The Exhibition is supported by Birmingham City University and curated by 2nd year Visual Communications students Alexandra Green, Joshua Johnson, James Hemming and Adam Hingley reporting to Art Director Phil Thomson, and will be hosted by Network Rail.

In its 33rd year, the internationally renowned festival, in July 2017, featured 225 performances, 210 of them free admission, in 100 venues with over 400 musicians in 75 bands from the UK, Australia, France, Greece, Holland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Spain and the USA.

The Exhibition will be in place on New Street Station from Friday December 1st.
