Raising women’s voices event for Birmingham

Calls for end to violence against women.

To mark the UN’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign local women will be demanding an end to abuse and violence around the world.

The public, campaigners and journalists are invited to join ActionAid volunteers for a special public event being held at Carrs Lane Conferene Centre, Carrs Lane, Birmingham B4 7SX on Tuesday 6th December from 6.30-8pm, as part of a global campaign to end violence against women. Local ActionAid campaigners will be sharing a platform with the Conservative Women’s Organisation, The Soroptimists and Jessica Njui from Kenya to discuss violence against women and girls, and what can be done to tackle it globally.

The event is aprt of an international series of events taking place over the next two weeks as part of the 16 Days of Activism against gender based violence which starts on 25th November. Details can be found here or contact [email protected]
