Birmingham TV channel to mark Somme centenary

Three hours of programmes will tell story of batttle.

Birmingham cable channel Big City TV is comemmorating the centenary of the Battle of the Somme by broadcasting a three hour programme Somme 100 at the weekend.

The programme will first go out on Saturday 2nd July 2016 from 7.00pm-10.00pm and will be repeated the following day from 7.00am-10.00am. Beginning with the news as it would have been presented in 1916, there will also be features on the battle itself, the area in which it took place, memorials to local participants and the role of West Midlands industry during the battle.

Somme 100 can be seen on Freeview channel 7, Virgin Media 159 in the West Midlands and also via the www.bigcentre.tv website at the time of broadcast.
