Cadbury World creates giant Easter eggs for charity

Monster fundraisers highlights of holiday weekend fun.

Cadbury World has hatched a plan to raise money for charity, by creating three unique giant Easter eggs.

The Bournville based attraction works closely with its chosen charities, which this year includes Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorns Hospice and Help for Heroes, which will each receive one of the giant eggs. Personalised for each charity, the eggs are designed to help raise awareness and much needed funds for each of the causes through community events, competitions and raffles.

Standing at an impressive 3ft tall, each egg has been created on site by the talented chocolatiers, before being hand-decorated with an intricate and unique design for each charity. Weighing 57kg each and sitting at 1.5ft wide, the show-stopping eggs are made from a combined total of 171kg of chocolate and each took two chocolatiers two days to create.

Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said: “Here at Cadbury World we are proud to support a number of charities and by combining the skills of our talented chocolatiers with everyone’s love for chocolate, our giant Easter eggs are our unique way of giving back. Visitors really enjoy watching them being created in our Chocolate Making zone, and we can’t wait to hear how popular they are this year in helping to raise money for our chosen charities.”

Cadbury World is set to host its own Easter Eggstravaganza from 25th March to 17th April, complete with entertainment for the whole family and unique Easter eggs available to buy in the World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop. With an Easter egg trail around the attraction and an Easter bonnet competition over Easter weekend (25th – 28th March), it promises to be an egg-citing day out for the whole family.
