Solihull pupil to play home town celeb

Chosen to play the young Richard Hammond.

A Solihull School pupil has been playing the part of TV star Richard Hammond in the current two-part Sky 1 documentary about the celebrity’s childhood ambition to be a wildlife photographer.

Ten year old George Brown from Dorridge is playing the part of Hammond as a boy at Solihull School where, as an eight year-old, he received his first Children’s Encyclopaedia of Animals, sparking a passion for wildlife. The creatures of the Amazon captured his imagination and inspired a lifelong interest in photography.

The documentary follows Hammond from his childhood to the present day where he lives out his fantasy of photographing wildlife in the Amazon. “Wildlife was my passion until cars, women, marriage and children took me in a different direction,” said the former star of Top Gear.
