On your marks for run challenge

Get filming ahead of Morrisons Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge.

A new incentive has been added to this year’s Morrisons Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge, with Midland companies given the chance to win an exclusive professional training session for their team of half marathon runners.

Businesses entering the challenge are invited to create their own short motivational film – be it funny, inspiring or simply educational – and simply post it on the Great Birmingham Run Facebook page, www.facebook.com/greatbirminghamrun

Films should be no longer than one minute in length. The videos must be posted by August 31st; the one judged to be the best by the Great Run team will win an exclusive personalised training session to help prepare them for the 13.1 mile course around Birmingham on Sunday October 18th.

Swapping their workplace and desks for the pavements of Birmingham, the challenge is open to small, medium and large businesses, with prizes for the first three teams in each category.Last year’s Business Challenge was the biggest ever, with over 500 runners and 46 teams taking part.

HSBC, Malmaison Hotel Birmingham and KPMG are just three of the businesses which have already signed up at www.greatrun.org/Birmingham

The Morrisons Great Birmingham Run is the biggest half marathon in the Midlands. Organisers hope to beat the record 22,000 runners who took part in the 2014 run, which reached capacity a week before the event.

Business Challenge teams must be a minimum of four people and a maximum of eight, but businesses can enter as many teams as they want, in male, female or mixed sex categories. Mixed teams must have a minimum of two men and two women.

Team members must be 16 years of age or over on race day; placings are based on the accumulated first 4 finishing times in each team. Every team that enters 12 or more employees will receive their own personalised company engraved plaque.
