Martineau Gardens to present Hamlet

Shakespeare play for Edgbaston beauty spot.

“All the world’s a stage…” and in this case, the decks of a pirate shipwreck play area at community garden Martineau Gardens, will be transformed into a stage for a special outdoor theatre production of Hamlet. The Shakespearean tragedy will be performed on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th August, at 6.30pm by Folksy Theatre.

Within the beautiful, leafy grounds of Martineau Gardens the audience will be invited to watch the Prince of Denmark as he battles his inner demons and seeks to avenge his late father – in true Folksy style. This production will be filled with live folk music and colourful characters, it’s Hamlet as it’s never seen before. The audience is encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and folding chairs to enjoy this wonderful open-air production.

Caroline Hutton, Director of Martineau Gardens said: “This event is all about having an entertaining evening enjoying live theatre in a beautiful garden.”
