Walsall among the first to host new swimming experience

Swimmers at the University of Wolverhampton’s Walsall Campus will become some of the first in the UK to try a new swimming experience developed by fitness experts.

Swimming

Based at the Sports Centre and developed by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA), Swimfit’s ‘Activate+’ initiative is a workout programme in the pool delivered by a fully qualified instructor.

On the programme swimmers will get the chance to discuss their individual goals with experts before they get started on their own pool workout programme. Swimmers will feel supported by their fellow members and motivated to go to greater lengths every time they take to the water.

Swimfit Activate+ group sessions will start on Monday, 8 April 2013 and will take place on Mondays from 12-1pm, as well as Thursdays from 5.30-6.30pm. Each session will cost £3.60 though discount offers are available – check out www.swimmingoffers.org for more information.

Marc Brady, Centre Manager at the Walsall Campus sports centre said: “If people have been inspired to follow in the footsteps of Rebecca Adlington and local hero Ellie Simmonds, they too can achieve their health and fitness goals by coming along to the new and innovative Swimfit group sessions here at Walsall Campus sports centre. It’s an exciting time to be part of the world’s greatest innovation in swimming.”

To book a session, contact the sports reception on 01902 518900.
