Turn up and become a rock star.
Tickets are now on sale for Brum rocks Live! which takes place on Sunday 14th July at Forum Birmingham and promises to be the rock concert of the year. Early Bird tickets are now available for participants – budding rock stars – and audiences here.
Brum Rocks, from Misfits Music, is an opportunity for hundreds of amateur musicians, singers and rockstar wannabes to come together for a once-in-a-lifetime rock concert. No musical experience is required – you don’t need to be a music expert or even be able to read sheet music, Misfits Music will lead the performers on the day with their professional musicians and talented house band.
Attendees just need to bring their voice or instrument – anyone is welcome: singer, guitarist, drummer, bassist or any other instrument. Tickets are broken down by instrument from guitars with amps to drummers to singers with an Early Bird offer of a 20% discount (using code EARLYBIRD) to options to become a Brum Rocks Hero and pay it forward for other participants.
Rob Jones, Artistic Director, Misfits Music Foundation said: “We are so delighted to be announcing tickets are on sale for Brum Rocks Live! The countdown to what promises to be a once in a lifetime experience for rock star wannabes from across Birmingham and the Black Country has begun.
“We encourage people to book early to take advantage of the early bird discount and to make sure they let us know what instrument they are bringing and their requirements so we can make sure we create the best rock band possible for the gig on 14th July.”
Audience tickets also allow the option for attendees to pay it forward and there are accessibility options for both participants and audience members with free companion tickets for those who need assistance. For those who need them, there are some free tickets available which can be requested here.
Budding rock stars wanting to prepare in advance can sign up to free Brum Rocks Workshops, funded via The National Lottery Community Fund People’s Project, taking place across Birmingham and the Black Country in the run up to Brum Rocks Live! A chance to practise playing with fellow rock enthusiasts and to try out some of the songs that will be played at the finale on 14th July, including the new anthem for Birmingham being penned especially for Brum Rocks Live! by Jasmine Gardosi, Birmingham’s Poet Laureate, thanks to additional funding from Heritage Lottery Fund.
It is possible to book your place and just turn up on the 14th July; there will be rehearsals in the afternoon before the audience arrives for the big gig itself. More details will be sent to all ticket holders.
