Birmingham band to play Worcester venue.
Birmingham’s premium reggae/punk collective Lobster will be performing at tWorcester music venue, The Marrs Bar on Saturday 13th April. They will be performing live alongside support acts Who Killed The Bear and The Severn Collective.
Lobster are a six-piece reggae punk band hailing from Birmingham, UK. Known for their infectious rhythms and lyrical social commentary, Lobster delivers dance floor-filling grooves that draw inspiration from Jamaica’s rich musical heritage and the UK’s diverse subcultures. Since their inception in 2009, Lobster has evolved from performing in friends’ back gardens to selling out their own live music club night, Lobster Shack.
Their fusion sound, which spans ska, dancehall, punk rock, hip-hop and dub, has seen them captivate audiences across Birmingham and beyond. Lobster’s live energy has graced venues and festivals throughout the UK, from squats to Selfridges, secret warehouses to TEDx stages. They’ve shared stages with punk and reggae legends such as the Subhumans, Drongos for Europe, The Mad Caddies, The Beat, and Dreadzone.
In November 2023, Lobster released their debut album Year Of The Lobster to a capacity crowd in their hometown. The album has received numerous airtime on both local and national radio stations including BBC WM, Ruffer N Tuffer, Tonic Ska Radio as well as glowing reviews in publications such as the world-renowned Do The Dog Skazine, who described the album as a “12 song masterpiece of epic proportions.”
Support on the night comes in the form of Who Killed The Bear and local talent The Severn Collective, promising a diverse lineup that guarantees an unforgettable night of music.
The gig will take place at The Marrs Bar, located at Sansome Hall, 12 Pierpoint St, Worcester, WR1 1TA. Doors open at 8pm, with tickets priced at £9 in advance.
