Win tickets to see Fairport Convention

Dudley date for folk legends gives the opportunity to win.

Legendary British folk band Fairport Convention’s upcoming Winter tour will be concluding with a performance at Dudley Town Hall on Sunday, 10th March and we have tickets to give away.

This year’s customary WinTour sees the chaps in fine form, coming hot off the heels of a more intimate, stripped back acoustic excursion throughout England, Scotland and Wales this past Autumn.

After kicking off at Milton Keynes’ The Stables on Tuesday, February 6th, the nationwide jaunt takes in 30 dates, before winding up in DudleyTown Hall on Sunday 10th March.

Stuffing their set with a mix of long-established Fairport favourites, and some surprises from albums old and new, both devoted fans and new converts can expect a show just as electrifying – and just as delightful – as ever.

The Winter 2024 tour will take in over 30 dates across England and Wales, kicking-off next week in Milton Keynes. Stuffing their set with a mix of long-established Fairport favourites, and some surprises from albums old and new, both devoted fans and new converts can expect a show just as electrifying – and just as delightful – as ever.

And that’s not all – returning to the drummer’s stool will be the Fairport’s celebrated former-drummer Dave Mattacks, who featured in the band throughout most of the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Tickets are on sale now, but we’re offering the chance to win a pair for the Dudley Town Hall gig. To enter answer the following question:

Which long-serving bass-playing member of the band was born in Birmingham?

Send your answer to birminghampress@gmail.com before noon on 28th February. The winner will be informed shortly afterwards.
