Rehearsals begin at Birmingham theatre for Stage Experience 2023.
The Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham is welcoming the eighteenth production of Stage Experience with the premiere of Bring It On. Eighty of the most talented rising stars of the Midlands area – who hail from Shropshire to Coventry, Stoke to Northampton, Birmingham to the Black Country – will start rehearsals from Friday 4th August for thirteen days of intensive preparation before the curtain rises for four performances from Thursday 17th-Saturday 19th August.
Playing the lead role of Danielle is Brittany Jarman-Watson from Sedgley who said, “I’m so excited to be joining the cast of Stage Experience’s Bring It On this summer. I was last in Stage Experience in 2014 for Annie and to return is something very special. The auditions were so competitive, and the cast that made it through are delighted to have been given this opportunity to perform on The Alexandra stage. Bring It On will feature not only acting, singing and dancing but also cheerleading skills, so we’re all learning things we’ve never done before. We cannot wait to invite audiences to support our early careers in the performing arts and hope that you enjoy the show! We’ll give it everything we’ve got over the 13 day rehearsal period to make this a show to remember.”
Co-Producers Hannah Whitfield (Co-Producer and Theatre Manager, maternity cover) and Victoria Ellery-Jones (Co-Producer and Marketing Manager) said: “The Alexandra Theatre is 122 years old, and for as long as the building has been nestled in the heart of Birmingham city centre, we have welcomed exceptional professional productions to entertain audiences across this city. As we now celebrate the eighteenth production of Stage Experience, we delight in organising this annual youth education programme, allowing young people from across the Midlands the chance to be involved in a full-scale show. Stage Experience is the highlight of our calendar, giving us the opportunity to involve the community in what we do. The Alex really comes alive with over 80 young people learning the ways of Theatreland!”
