Sharing the spoils with the Biscuitmen

Andy Munro enjoys Blues’ draw at Reading.

A one-all draw at newly relegation-threatened Reading was a valuable point towards formalising Blues’ retention of Championship status.

The home side were obviously desperate for points given the docking of six and, in fairness, they have some talented forwards and midfielders. This was never more evident that when Andy Carroll swept home an opener. Luckily Blues kept up their discipline and pressure and it was no surprise when the Juke headed home a cross from the mercurial Reda Khadra.

Blues probably edged the game but there wasn’t much in it and highlights included another excellent performance from George Hall, solid work from Alfie Chang and Krystian Bielik in the centre plus another accomplished performance at the back from Kevin Long. On the downside, Tahith Chong had one of his ineffective performances while Marc Roberts had a torrid time in the air against the gangly Carroll.

However, overall it was a more than decent performance and a well-merited point.
