Robins put to flight

Blues beat Bristol City 3-0. Andy Munro is happy.

This was an excellent Blues performance following on from their disappointing loss to Boro. Three changes were probably meant to freshen things up and if that was the reason it certainly worked.

In fairness, the result was never in doubt apart from a brief ten minute rally from the Robins at the start of the second period, no doubt following a stiff half-time talking to from a certain Nigel Pearson.

At the back Harlee Dean made an accomplished return alongside a dominant Auston Trusty, who topped off a fine performance with a brace of goals. Dion Sanderson was solid, also weighing in with a goal and urged on by the dominant Neil Ruddy who was captain for the day, patrolling the edge of the area shouting instructions throughout.

In midfield young George Hall came of age alongside Hannibal Mejbri, who runs around like Robbie Savage on acid with the same theatrical dives when fouled. Out wide, wingback turned winger Emmanuel Longelo was a real handful for the opposition whilst all the while behind them Krystian Bielik operated in a cool, calm and collected fashion, snuffing out any danger.

Perhaps the main reasons for the win, however, were Scott Hogan and Tahith Chong whose mobility, speed and anticipation were too hot for the Robins to handle and, on another day, would have scored a few themselves.

Definitely a good day at the office!
