Let’s get together – again

Work of Erdington community groups showcased.

A pilot event to showcase the impact of work being done by organisations funded by the Erdington Neighbourhood Network Scheme was attended by more than 140 people.

Thursday’s event, entitled Let’s Get Together, was held at Erdington Court Bowls Club and featured groups and individuals who have been delivering activities which benefit the physical and emotional health of service users.

Neighbourhood Networker for the ENNS, Fauzia Begum, said: “Let’s Get Together brought together assets who support and deliver activities for younger adults with disabilities and those aged 50 and over, to help reduce social isolation and promote compassionate communities.

“It provided an opportunity for members of the community to find out what is available locally via ENNS funded assets. It also explored the potential of working with professionals such as Adult Social Care, Occupational Therapy, GP’s and the Fire Service.

“We were delighted with the turnout on the day and hope this pilot event will be the first of many more similar events in the future.”
