Jazz festival programme launched

Summer’s here so it’s time for jazz.

Just like hay fever and an England batting collapse, but a lot more welcome, the Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival is a feature of the summer calendar. Now into its 38th incarnation, the 2022 festival, once again promoted by the Big Bear Music Group, will run from 15th-24th July, offering music fans throughout the area the chance to see hundreds of gigs in some of the most unlikely places, ranging from bars to shopping centres to trams, and as always most of them are free.

The festival programme will be launched on Tuesday 21st June at 7pm, prior to Big Bear’s regular Henry’s Blueshouse event at Velvet Music Rooms on Broad Street. Pop along and you’ll be amongst the first to pick up a copy of the programme, giving the who, when and where of one of Europe’s longest-running and best-loved musical extravaganzas.

And if you need any further encouragement to turn up, stick around and later that evening you’ll be able to enjoy the authentic Chicago blues sounds of the Nitecrawlers.

If you can’t make it and you want a copy of the programme, or if you want to find out anything else about the festival, Henry’s or any of the other branches to the Big Bear family tree, mail festival@bigbearmusic.com or ring 0121 454 7070.
