To Hull and back, again

Blues go down at Hull City with Andy Munro commenting.

Never a happy hunting ground, Blues yet again endured another miserable visit to Fish City. To make matters worse, we’re getting down to bare bones with a wafer-thin squad that was only made worse by Gary Gardner’s first half rush of blood to the head.

Yet we didn’t play badly and for the third match running got the thin end of the wedge on decisions by the men in black. The opening goal by Hull was only made possible with the ball out of play almost to the extent the ball boys could have got involved. However, credit to Blues who even with ten men shaded the second half despite going a further goal behind. Riley McGree had another good game and will be sorely missed when he leaves the club in a few weeks, and one wonders whether the board will back Lee Bowyer even in getting in some good quality loans.

At present we’re enduring another torrid spell and need to get back on track, with the return of Jordan Graham desperately needed as well as Ivan Sanchez, although the latter’s hesitant return to gradual fitness makes you wonder if he’s looking for an early return to his home country on La Paloma Blanca.

It was a disappointing afternoon, but perhaps we still need to bear in mind that the team are as close to the top six as they are to the bottom three, although to keep that up we need to get back to winning ways sharpish.
