Dogged display against the Terriers.

Andy Munro reports from Blues’ goalless draw at Huddersfield.

This wasn’t the prettiest match to witness but it was vital that Blues stopped the rot and in doing so it was mission accomplished despite our opposition nemesis Frazier Campbell hitting the woodwork twice.

In contrast, we never really troubled Huddersfield defensively but at least we were solid at the back. George Friend may lack pace but he’s a clever player and Dion Sandersen alongside him was excellent…something that thankfully rubbed off on the recently inconsistent Marc Roberts.

Midfield worked hard although Ivan Sunjic was again wayward in possession. However, apart from Sandersen maybe the most pleasing performance came from Riley McGree, whose mobility and cleverness got him into some good positions. I felt a bit sorry for Tshiah Chong, who worked hard but it didn’t really work having him play in the hole behind a lone striker, and the Juke certainly looked lonely at times. Perhaps also a shout out for Jordan Graham, who was diligent defensively but no Jeremie Bela going forward.

Next up are Swansea, victors over the Baggies and no easy touch. My side would be Sarkic; Pedersen, Friend, Roberts and Sandersen; McGree, Woods, Gardner, Chong; Hogan, Deeney, playing in a 4-4-2 formation. A win would put us back on some sort of track in the topsy-turvy footballing world that is the EFL Championship.
