Andy Munro looks on the bright side of Blues going down to Norwich City.
Looking at the positives, Blues
played well against Norwich and were on deservedly level terms with just fifteen minutes to go. They even had more shots than the league leaders but in the end that is no real consolation.
The fact is that even if Wednesday don’t beat Brentford, we are only just out of the bottom three and those below us all
Again, the late substitutions were a little strange with the Juke being brought on and the wingers taken off. Certainly, as has been said many times on social media, San Jose needs to be repatriated as soon as possible on La Paloma Blanca.
However, coming back to the good points, Harper looks an excellent addition and marries well with the energy of Gardner and Sunjic. Pedersen had his best game for ages and Clarke-Salter shows he now deserves a run in the team.
It’s the top end that’s worrying and while Scott Hogan puts in a tremendous amount of work with two wide players and no number ten, he lacks support.
Either way, the game against QPR is now absolutely critical and will be a proper test on whether our win against Wednesday was just a false dawn.
And a message for the manager. Please cut out the mantra on unlucky bounces and deflections and poor refereeing, it’s becoming a bit of a bore.
