Go West & Bowie bandmate tours announced

Legends to play UK tours including Birmingham dates.

With further restrictions placing doubt on any more live events taking place this year, promoters are already turning their attention to 2021.

David Bowie’s former producer/bassist Tony Visconti and drummer Woody Woodmansey are getting ready to launch their new project The Best Of Bowie featuring long time fan and friend Heaven 17’s Glenn Gregory plus the all star Holy Holy band.

The band will perform iconic hits and cult classics from Bowie’s extensive back catalogue at eight special shows including Birmingham Town Hall on 14th April. One of the world’s most celebrated producers, Visconti played bass on Bowie’s first two records and went on to produce ten of David’s albums throughout his career.

Drummer Woody performed and recorded with Bowie during his Ziggy Stardust era as one of legendary backing band The Spiders From Mars. They are joined by Glenn Gregory who is the frontman of the Holy Holy project which also features Paul Cuddeford and James Stevenson (guitars), Tony’s daughter Jessica Lee Morgan (12 string and sax) and the talented Janette Mason on piano/keys.

An intoxicating mix of adoration and respect for their old friend and fellow band member promises to bring the spirit of David Bowie to the Town Hall stage. Tickets are on sale now and available here.

Award-winning 80s pop icons Go West are celebrating their 35th anniversary with a run of UK shows featuring a full live orchestra, plus special guests Cutting Crew, and will be at Symphony Hall on 1st May.

Formed in 1982 by Peter Cox (lead vocalist) and Richard Drummie (guitarist and backing vocals) the band burst into the charts with their debut We Close Our Eyes and went on to have a string of hits including King of Wishful Thinking, which featured on the blockbuster movie Pretty Woman, sold over ten million copies worldwide, received an ASCAP award and was one of the most played songs on American Radio.

Their eponymously titled debut album sold 1.5 million copies worldwide and remained on the UK chart for 83 weeks. The music video for We Close Our Eyes was directed by Godley & Crème and the band went on to win the people’s choice BRIT Award for Best British Newcomer in 1986.
