Beer at home means Dig Brew

Dig Brew Co starts home deliveries with new beer launch.

Birmingham’s Dig Brew Co brewery has entered the home deliveries market after launching its first Imperial Stout through a new online shop.

The award-winning craft brewery on River Street in Digbeth has launched the easy to access shop at its website to serve customers in Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Worcestershire.

As part of its expansion, the two-year-old brewery has already started delivering a range of 12 freshly brewed beers comprising a lager, three pale ales including a session strength, three IPAs including two Imperials, a wheat ale, fruit smoothie sour, fruited sour ale, Baltic porter and its debut Imperial Stout.

The beers, priced from £3.20 per 330ml bottle – with discounts of up to 20% on bulk orders – can be ordered singly or in pick-and-mix packs of six and 12 bottles through the new online shop at www.digbrewco.com/collections.

The brewery’s new Imperial Stout – Eddie Fights Judge Doom – is the first of its beers to be launched via the secure contact-free ordering and delivery service.

Dig Brew founder Oliver Webb and head brewer Andy Whyte have named the full-bodied dark beer from a scene in the popular 1989 comic strip film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, in which hard-boiled detective Eddie Valiant played by Bob Hoskins faces off against cartoon villain Judge Doom.

At 10.1% APV, the fully authentic Imperial Stout has been in production since November 2019 using a complex malt bill with additional muscovado, demerara and lactose sugars, along with a blend of four yeast strains, all cold-conditioned over Madagascan vanilla pods and cacao nibs.

Oliver Webb, who launched Dig Brew Co in 2018 with the support of Peter Towler of Mad O’Rourke’s Pie Factory in Tipton, said: “Our debut Imperial Stout has revolutionised our understanding of recipe design. With a flavour profile of sticky toffee pudding, raisins and vanilla, the beer oozes richness and elegance – it’s a must try.

“To help our customers through the ongoing UK lockdown, we will produce a fresh supply week by week that can be ordered through our new online shop.”

He added: “Home deliveries are the next step in our expansion programme as we aim to deliver our beers direct to homes nationally.”
