Blues draw 1-1 at Blackburn, leaving Andy Munro impressed.
Nobody could call Blues grinding out a draw at Blackburn a classic, but nevertheless it was an excellent point against opponents who hadn’t lost at home since September.
Certainly, the side that Pep selected was a bit surprising in that the flair was taken out of midfield and replaced
It was almost a Gary Monk replay with Blues enjpying less possession than their opponents but having more shots on the break. Resting Sunjic and Bellingham certainly came as a surprise, as did the fact that the talented Dan Crowley failed to get any game time.
It was good to see Maghoma put in a decent shift and Mrabti showing he still has something to offer with the icing on the cake being an excellently taken penalty. And it wad strange to see McEachran, who has been one of the more impressive in our run of defeats, not getting a run out either.
It will be interesting to see what team will start against Leeds, when playing a holding game may be a recipe for disaster. It would be good to take the game to them but, in fairness to Pep, he may think our patched-up defence need some protection.
Either way, it should be interesting to see what side he picks. Incidentally, it was good to see him having faith in the talented and pacy Bela, who definitely looks an excellent signing.
