World class names for Kenilworth Arts Festival

Top attractions coming to Warwickshire.

Kenilworth Arts Festival has announced the first highlights of the programme for its fourth edition, which features international artists, UK premieres and exclusive performances.

The festival, which will run from Thursday 19th–Saturday 28th September, will take over open spaces, theatres, churches, bookshops and streets, transforming Warwickshire’s famous historic town into a world-class stage for arts, music, performance and the spoken word.

Lewis Smith, Artistic Director of Kenilworth Arts Festival, and one of the youngest such producers in the UK, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to welcome world class writers, musicians and artists to Kenilworth once again for our 2019 festival. The Festival has grown year on year, and we are proud to continue to champion brilliant, thought provoking new work.”

Lewis added, “We look forward to welcoming local residents and visitors to the town for what will be an exciting ten days of events.”

The festival will also host a free Old Town Street Party, featuring live music, an art and craft market and walkabout theatre, and an exhibition of work by the newly formed Kenilworth Artists collective. Confirmed family activities include the installation of a fully accessible interactive multi-sensory Soundplay Dome created by Scottish artists Bal Cooke and Ewan Sinclair. The Soundplay Dome uses music, animation and interactive technology so users can explore, create and communicate through music, movement and play.

Tickets for festival events are priced from £6 and are available here. Further information and access go to www.kenilworthartsfestival.co.uk. Further artist announcements will be made over the coming weeks.
