Birmingham charity announces new community fund

LoveBrum announces new funding grant for Impact Week.

Birmingham charity LoveBrum is celebrating their second annual Impact Week with the announcement of a brand new community fund. Taking place from 29th April–3rd May, Impact Week is a celebration of the work that LoveBrum, and the causes supported, have achieved over the last four years. The Community funding grant will be a £15,000 fund available as a single grant in addition to the current funding LoveBrum provides.

Impact Week will commence on 29th April, kicking off with the release of LoveBrum’s Annual Report. The report revisits causes funded from the past four years, sharing the stories of the individuals and communities that have benefited from LoveBrum’s support. In the past twelve months alone, the annual report highlights that LoveBrum has raised over £60,000, created 872 volunteer hours and donated 15,000 items to Birmingham’s homeless community.

The introduction of the Community Impact Fund marks 12-months of change for the organisation. In 2018, LoveBrum secured £250,000 of National Lottery funding from the Big Lottery Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK. The charity was able to add over £50,000 to the funding pot, which has meant even more local causes could be supported.

Applications for the Community Impact Fund will be open to any organisation looking to make the city a better place, but will look to fund community-based projects working to overcome the challenges our City is facing, particularly tackling homelessness and poverty gap.

LoveBrum also saw the brand new appointment of Executive Director, Paul Mitchell in 2018. Paul’s role has been to drive the direction of the charity, working alongside the Board of Trustees. Speaking about Impact Week, Paul Mitchell comments: “The past 12 months have been an incredible time for LoveBrum. Since receiving the National Lottery funding last year, we have been able to support even more hidden gem projects who are doing incredible things across the city.

“With Impact Week being a real celebration of our city – and a reason for us to look at the incredible impact that LoveBrum has had, there was no better time to announce the brand-new Community Impact Fund. The fund not only provides the causes a greater platform along with the freedom to continue the valuable work they are doing within our local communities, it also marks the next stage in growth for us as a charity.”

Every penny from your membership goes to supporting projects in the city.
