Ladies nights at Birmingham theatre

Women’s History Month marked at the Old Joint Stock.

The Old Joint Stock Theatre, Birmingham’s rising fringe theatre venue, has dedicated the entirety of its March programming to female-led creatives, featuring exclusively female writers, directors and creative teams.

Quickly becoming one of the leading fringe venues in the Midlands for touring and in house production the Old Joint Stock Theatre team of Karl Steele & Adam Lacey wanted to feature more female writers and directors in their growing programme.

In an industry still surprisingly under-representing women in writing and directing roles the Old Joint Stock have chosen Women’s History Month to showcase some of the best fringe theatre from across the UK, and of course, the whole programme is packed with female led creative.

Amongst the attractions will be feminist musical theatre company Fat Rascal Theatre’s hit production of Vulvarine: A New Musical and critically acclaimed Narcissist in the Mirror by Rosie Fleeshman.
