College to offer help for firms or students affected.
Birmingham’s leading education establishment, South and City College Birmingham, has pledged to support all students and businesses affected by the recent announcement of national Apprenticeship provider, 3aaa, entering into administration.
The vocational college, located across six different campuses throughout the City, currently supports over 900 apprentices who are in the process of completing an Apprenticeship. Candidates are studying qualifications in a range of subject areas from professional and creative studies, construction and life sciences, where many students have secured placements with local Birmingham businesses as part of their qualification.
South and City College Birmingham’s dedicated apprenticeships team is offering to support any apprentice or business affected by the collapse of 3aaa to support candidates to continue on their qualifications, whilst maintaining their employed positions with some of the city’s leading businesses.
College Principal, Mike Hopkins (pictured), said: “At South and City College Birmingham we pride ourselves on helping our students and apprentices achieve their career goals and aspirations and supporting local businesses.”
“The news of 3AAA going into administration is a shock. We are now working with the Education and Skills Funding Agency to help support apprentices and businesses in and around Birmingham that have been affected.
“Over the last five years, we have helped over 30,00 students achieve a vast range of exciting apprenticeship opportunities and will continue to do so during this year and beyond.”
South and City College Birmingham urges any concerned students or businesses to contact its Apprenticeships Team directly via a dedicated telephone line 0121 694 5066 or email address apprenticeshipteam@sccb.ac.uk.
