Local recruitment drive on the road to help the country’s most vulnerable.
A Sutton Coldfield-based enterprise is helping to boost regional employment by launching a recruitment drive to enhance the services and support it provides to those facing vulnerable financial hardship.
Auriga Services – the not-for-profit social enterprise which works with utility companies and local authorities to assess and distribute grants to those most in need – has witnessed unprecedented growth and demand for its services during the last 12 months.
The firm is now committing £200,000 of investment to new recruits across a variety of roles, including marketing, business development, IT and administration, to further enhance its support.
Such positive news for the region comes off the back of figures released by the Office for National Statistics recently, which revealed a 0.3 per cent increase in unemployment in the region between July and September, with the West Midlands having the third-highest unemployment rate in the country.
Mark Abrams, CEO of Auriga (pictured) said: “We’re pleased to be bringing new and much-needed employment opportunities to those in the West Midlands and adding to the strength of our 60-strong team, based in Sutton Coldfield.
“Each year we help to distribute over £15m in grants to individuals and community organisations, and provide additional support in helping people to get back on track– this requires specialist knowledge, passion and a commitment to help the country’s most vulnerable people.
“With our company vision to have helped two-million people by 2020 we’re hopeful that our employment drive ahead of Christmas will go a step further in helping us to achieve what we believe to be a very realistic vision.”
