Festive family fun at Artrix

Christmas cheer for all at arts centre.

There’s a whole host of family events at Artrix in Bromsgrove throughout the festive season, from Sing-A-Long films to a traditional family Pantomime.

On Saturday 1st December, Artrix welcomes the feelgood family stage show Santa In Love. Audiences are invited to join Santa and his friends in this fun-filled family musical, complete with games, giggles and all your favourite Christmas songs. Santa will be available after the show for a meet and greet with little ones and to hand out a gift. This show is best suited for ages 2+.

Also on 1st December there’s the final chance for families to join participate with a lantern making workshop, ahead of the Festival of Light Parade which takes place on Sunday 9th December. This particular workshop is Lantern Making For The Brave, in which participants can create more complicated creations. It’s free of charge, but must be booked in advance via Artrix Box Office.

Next up is the warming winter tale, The Little Match Girl on Saturday 8th December. In this touching, madcap, heart-warming Christmas show, The Last Baguette Theatre Company use visual storytelling, live music and puppetry to shine a light on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic winter tale. This show is best suited for ages 4+.

From 15th to 23rd December All & Sundry present their annual traditional family Pantomime and this year it’s Jack And The Beanstalk. Expect a Giant of a Panto with fun, laughter and plenty of audience participation.

On Tuesday 18th December Artrix Cinema will be screening The Royal Ballet Live Encore: The Nutcracker. Stunning dancing, combined with Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous, iconic score are presented in a festive period setting with vivid designs to make this a charming and magical production.

On Christmas Eve, families are invited to the stage production of Santa’s Christmas Party. There will be adventure, festive songs, party games and the chance to meet Santa and receive a special gift. This show is best suited for 2-7 year olds.

Throughout December Artrix will be screening The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (rated PG) on 7th, 10th, 21st and 28th. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney’s new holiday feature film is inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.

On Saturday 29 December there will be a special Sing-A-Long screening of Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast (rated PG). Be our guest and re-live the magic of this classic fairytale, starring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens at The Beast. Fancy dress isn’t essential but is positively encouraged!
