Midland firm to tackle workplace mental health

Seminars aimed to help health and well-being at work.

Worcestershire based business, The Healthy Worker, is excited to announce the launch of its new well-being seminars, dedicated to helping Birmingham Employers improve health and well-being in the workplace.

With the first of many dates starting on Wednesday 21st November at Fazeley Studios, Digbeth, the Seminars will be free to attend and provide a friendly platform to support businesses in improving well-being in the workplace; enabling participants gain information on key wellbeing topics, ask questions and share experiences.

Liz Preece, Founder and Managing Director of The Healthy Worker, explained: “Poor health and wellbeing is costing the UK economy up to £57 billion a year in lost productivity and we recognise that not having the correct strategies in place can impact the success of your organisation.”

Over the past five years, the business has worked with a number of large organisations throughout the UK to create and manage well-being strategies, whilst also supporting the development of individuals struggling with mental health.

“The November seminar will focus on ensuring attendees leave with a clarity for their wellbeing plans or strategy for their business, having information about the current workplace health situation and enabling them to walk away with an example of good practice.”

Alongside her extensive knowledge of workplace wellbeing, Liz has nearly 20 years’ experience as an occupational health nurse and contributes to Occupational Health at a strategic level. She launched The Healthy Worker in 2013 after finding herself both passionate and concerned about the increasing number of clients with mental health problems.

Some of Liz’s work was recently published in the Public Health England report, selected from 117 submissions as a case study for improving workplace health and wellbeing.
