Double header to mark Jewellery Quarter festival.
Birmingham Jazz presents a couple of gigs at 1,000 Trades over the coming weekend as part of the JQ Festival.
First up is Friday 20th July, and what better on a warm sunny evening than this Birmingham Jazz outing for a band led by bassist Shiv Singh (pictured)? This is his Trio
Then the following evening sees another chance to hear one the most accomplished British bands, the Chris Laurence Quartet, with special guest Henry Lowther. This quartet spans two generations – the 1960’s new music era represented by Henry Lowther, Chris Laurence and Frank Ricotti and the Loose Tubes era of the 1980’s represented by Martin France and John Paricelli. They play their own tunes that have been honed over the decades, and are full of all the good things of life: warmth, humour, melancholy, and memories.
Tickets: £12.50/£10 Members/Students £5
Both gigs take place at the 1,000 Trades, 16 Frederick Street, Jewellery Quarter, B1 3HE.
