Funding request for show to be staged at Fringe.
Following successful performances in London, Birmingham and Bristol, actress Danica Corns is calling on the local community to help raise the funds to take her theatre company’s debut show A Womb of One’s Own to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Danica from Wednesbury comments: “We have been overwhelmed by the response to the show so far with so many people coming up to us afterwards and sharing their experience or telling us how much they were touched by the play. Certainly for us this demonstrates a need for the show and that we really are helping to open up discussions about the subject.
“We want the show to continue with its success and taking it to the Edinburgh Fringe festival will give us the platform we need to put the show in front of theatre producers, directors and creatives from all over the world.”
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the biggest celebration of arts and culture from around the globe and takes place every August for three weeks.
Wonderbox needs to fundraise around £8,000 in total to take the show to the prestigious festival and is aiming to crowdfund £2,000 of that to contribute towards the costs which include accommodation, travel, theatre fees and marketing materials.
