Registration now open for participants in St Patrick’s parade run.
The Emerald Mile will return March 11th for the second edition on the St Patrick’s Parade Fun Run.
The Emerald Mile will kick off parade day proceedings at 10.30 am outside South and City college, and will invite participants to run, jog, walk and dance their way around two miles of the Parade route in their best fancy dress (optional) with several prizes up for grabs.
The addition of the Emerald Mile hopes to give attendees a chance to have fun, get active and support the parade, with all proceeds of the entry fee going back to the Birmingham St Patrick’s Parade.
This year for the first time all runners will receive a unique collectors runners medal for taking part in the Emerald Mile. The day will bring fun for all the family, and the first 30 runners back will receive a branded memento ‘I ran the Emerald Mile’ t-shirt courtesy of South and City College and there will be unique collectors medals for the first 100 runners to register for tickets.
This is the second year South and City College has supported the fun run, and the Digbeth campus will also act as race HQ for runner registration and a secure area for runners to leave belongings.
Those with the best fancy dress and the fastest running times of the day will also win prizes, with every participant also entered into a grand prize draw to win prizes such as a spa day, a meal for two or a gift box of products.
Attendees are invited to come and cheer on the runners from 10:30am, with all festival areas opening at 11am, and of course the Parade starting from Camp Hill at 12 noon.
Organisers hope that the Emerald Mile will again be a fun way to kick off the day’s celebrations in the city. To register to take part in the Emerald Mile please visit www.stpatricksbirmingham.com/emerald-mile Registration closes at 10am on Thursday 8th March 2018.
