Region’s entrepreneurs provided with new self-development tool.

Specialist EdTech start-up Enploy has joined forces with Innovation Birmingham, the leading location for the region’s digital tech community, to bring together the region’s most established support system for entrepreneurs with a brand new online entrepreneurship diagnostic tool.

Enploy’s new online diagnostic enhances the business support services that the Entrepreneurs for the Future (e4f) programme provides, helping individuals striving for a career as a digital tech entrepreneur. The resource is being launched in alignment with the e4f programme’s January intake of ten tech talents, adding even more value to the nine months of business mentoring provided by in-house experts and dedicated programme managers.

The mindset diagnostic helps individuals gauge their own entrepreneurial traits through a tailored tool providing; an insight into the strengths and growth opportunities of their thinking style, a chance to reflect on individual and company goals, and ways to succeed in enterprise.

As well as an informative diagnostic tool, Enploy also provides bespoke content surrounding areas such as emotional intelligence, leadership and project management, all housed in an interactive online learner portal allowing users to discuss and implement ideas within a structured framework.

Jon Allen, Co-Founder of Enploy said: “Our partnership between Enploy and Innovation Birmingham highlights the demand from entrepreneurs and experienced mentors for a platform to bridge the connection between learning and practical application within an innovation context. We’re facilitating this through a series of online programmes and face-to-face workshops, whilst increasing awareness around the importance of self-reflection to improve and innovate.

“The Innovation Birmingham Campus is based on the ethos of an inclusive digital technology community, and by joining forces we are encouraging techies to come together, both online and in workshops, to share experiences and participate in individual and group development exercises. We feel that, with our EdTech expertise and Innovation Birmingham’s tech infrastructure, this combination provides the ideal environment for individuals to improve and innovate through digital tech.”

Over 160 early-stage start-ups and entrepreneurs have graduated from the e4f programme in a variety of industries, including ventures in automotive, sharing, gaming, data and shopping sectors.

Naomi Watts, e4f Programme Manager commented: “We are very excited to be integrating Enploy’s great entrepreneurial framework to bolster the existing bases of mentoring and business development contained within the e4f programme. This personal growth platform adds a new dimension to the support we offer, helping us to maintain Birmingham’s status as the top place in the region for founding new companies.”

Enploy joined the Barclays Eagle Lab within Innovation Birmingham’s Serendip Smart City Incubator nine months ago. In addition to the full package available to e4f members, Innovation Birmingham is now also hosting a taster version of the diagnostic on its website here.
