Greased Lightin’ fightin’ homelesness

Grease is the word for charity fundraiser.

“Tell me more, tell me more…”

Octet Events is hosting the ultimate throwback to the 50’s with Grease is Still the Word on Thursday 15th February, 2018, at The Night Owl in Digbeth, Birmingham UK. With tickets being £5 online and £6 on the door, it’s the ultimate high school reunion!

In support of homeless charity St Basil’s, Octet Events is raising awareness of youth homelessness in and around Birmingham, channelling all things Grease to raise money for the charity. This event has started from a zero pound budget and all money to pay for the event has been fundraised via bake sales and a gofundme page. The events company is nonprofitable and all proceeds will go to St Basil’s Charity.

With Grease celebrating its fortieth anniversary this year, it was clear that the popularity of the film and its stylings will be loved for generations to come, thus Grease is Still the Word was born!

Take a step into Rydell High and make sure to come in your best 50’s gear to be in with the chance of winning the best dressed competition, and bring some spare dough to get involved with the raffle, which boasts an array of peachy prizes. With music from the era and the movie, you’ll feel fully submerged in the Grease experience. Sweet treats and alcoholic beverages are also on sale to help ease you into belting out the classics (not that we think you’ll need it).

St Basil’s helps support youths aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Without vital funding, the charity will be unable to continue supporting 5,000 youths a year across the West Midlands. Sothe Pink Ladies, T-Birds and all other Grease enthusiasts are needed help raise as much money as possible in support of this extraordinary charity.

As the mighty Vince Fontaine would say; “You Jims and Sals are my best pals, and to look your best for the big contest, just be yourself and have a ball, that’s what it’s all about after all! Just remember, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose, it’s what you do with your dancin’ shoes.”.
