The British & Irish Moden Music Institute Birmingham will be hosting the grand final of Firestones Battle of the Bands contest at their Floodgate HQ this Thursday 14 December. The final will be streamed live via the Firestones official Facebook page
The extensive search to find the UKs most talented unsigned artists has moved a step closer, as the finalists of Firestone’s Battle of the Bands 2017 competition has been revealed.
300 entries were whittled down to six shortlisted acts and of those shortlisted, the three acts who polled the most number of votes were Fire Fences, Nuns of the Tundra and EL-Emcee via a public online vote. These three finalists can now prepare for the gig of their lives in front of music industry professionals, friends and family this Thursday 14 th December.
This year Firestone has partnered with Orange Amplification and Professional Music Technology. As a result, more than £2,000 worth of Orange Amplification equipment and studio time worth £1,500 will be given to the overall winner, along with the honour of being Firestones Battle of the Bands champion.
A judging panel comprising of Antony Greaves (BIMM Birmingham Principal), Daniel Darby (Orange Amplification) and Stuart Attfield (Firestone), Jake Marray (Professional Music Technologys marketing manager) and Ben Sharman (Arena Birmingham sponsorship manager) will decide on the winning band and put them on the road to a breakthrough in the music industry.
Antony Greaves said, “We are delighted to be hosting Firestone’s Battle of the Bands 2017 at our new state-of-the-art music college here in Digbeth, and we look forward to an exciting night of live streamed music!”
Firestones brand manager Stuart Attfield added: BIMM was a perfect venue as it champions emerging music / grassroots like we do. It was perfect due to its involvement in music studies and further education which sits really well with our take on our music sponsorships.
“We really couldnt ask for three more deserving finalists. They all boast unique sounds and display the levels of energy and desire that we were hoping to see when we created the contest. All three underline why Firestone is so committed to music and promoting grassroots talent. We genuinely believe that these three acts are the strongest that we have come across since launching Battle of the Bands in 2015.
