Full range of performances from acclaimed company.

DanceXchange the Midlands-based dance house, has announced its latest performance season from 22nd September until 2nd December 2017.

The new season at The Patrick Centre sees dx present performances that are inspired by the science behind the sun and the magic of the moon; an exploration of the cathartic power of dance and the enduring link between dance and music; and shared stories of womanhood and community. In addition, at Birmingham Weekender festival in September, dx will be showcasing work by its current Associate Artists and producing two new outdoor performances which will go on to premiere at International Dance Festival Birmingham 2018.

The Birmingham Weekender programme includes:

• Two new outdoor performances co-commissioned by International Dance Festival Birmingham 2018 and Birmingham Weekender Festival; Modern Warrior, a fast paced kung fu inspired performance by Rosie Kay Dance Company and Moon by 2Faced Dance Company, a circus-based family show.
• Two performances presented by current dx’s Associates; a preview of DeNada Dance Theatre’s new work TORO: DeNada’s Beauty and the Bull in The Patrick Centre and ORBIS a visually astonishing duet by Humanhood, which takes place outdoors in the round.

The Patrick Centre programme includes:

• Dance, film and music combine to take audiences on a journey through the universe with Alexander Whitley Dance Company’s unique 8 Minutes.
• In partnership with Fierce Festival, Lucy Suggate’s Pilgrim explores the transformative qualities of dance whilst Michele Rizzo’s Higher, a UK premiere, takes audiences clubbing, experiencing the cathartic power of dance.
• The Head Wrap Diaries by Uchenna Dance brings audiences a unique blend of House, Waacking and Vogue fused with African and Contemporary dance.
• Zero, a visually and sonically mesmerising duet by Humanhood
