A world of miniatures at the NEC

Miniature exhibition show returns for 34th year.

There’s a chance to take a closer look at the world of miniature modelling and dolls’ houses with the ever-popular Miniatura Show at the NEC from 30th September-1st October 2017.

Miniatura has been hosting an event for 34 years in Birmingham, bringing some of the world’s best miniatures to the heart of England. Craftsman and enthusiasts of everything in smaller scales will be at the show this Autumn to enjoy some of the best this hobby has to offer.

Brand new, high quality, miniature craftsmanship is happening in workshops and on kitchen tables right now, being created especially for the show. The exhibitors will be working right up to the event making some of the most wonderfully precise and fabulously imaginative works of miniature art. You’ll be able to meet the artists in person at the show and enjoy the very latest items in their collections.

Well-established workshops will be run by professional and expert tutors. Learn a new skill or technique in an enjoyable and comfortable atmosphere. Also the newly introduced Children’s Table is open to any young modellers wanting to show their work.

New and well established exhibitors will be at the show, as well as some who are returning after a break such as Amanda Speakman of Amanspeak Miniatures who returned to Miniatura’s Spring Show after a three year break. Amanda and her 11-year-old daughter, Abbie will be back with a delicious array of foods on their stand, including some that Abbie, following in mum’s footsteps, has made.

Show organiser Andy Hopwood said: “As always we put a strong emphasis on comfort, creating plenty of space to move around the show and lots of public seating areas for you to relax in and enjoy award winning catering. All of this is in the setting of the easily accessible National Exhibition Centre with good transport links via train, plane, bus and car. There is still no charge for parking at Miniatura and if you are coming by Virgin trains you can get a discount on your fare. A new feature of the NEC is also full sized shopping at Resorts World which includes entertainment and retail outlets.”

The next show takes place on Saturday 30th September (limited tickets, so book in advance) and Sunday 1st October 2017 at the Birmingham NEC. Doors open 10am both days (Show closes 5pm Saturday and 4pm Sunday).
