£1.5 million investment to help business grow presence in Birmingham

Further boost for the start-up capital of the UK.

Three Birmingham entrepreneurs have invested £1.5 million in providing an innovative and cost-effective virtual office solution for helping start-ups and existing businesses looking to boost their profile.

Grosvenor House, in the prestigious St Paul’s Square in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, has been completely renovated to provide elegant conference facilities, co-working space, a permanent office location and an events venue, alongside an expansive virtual office offering.

This tailored approach to business premises allows start-ups to register their business at a prominent address without expensive overheads and allows existing businesses to increase their presence with a Birmingham location, from just £25 per month.

Ian Mourbey, one the three equal shareholders in Grosvenor House, said: “We have seen a big change in the way people work over the last few years, not only with the growth of freelancers and start-ups but also with the increase of flexible working and, in turn, virtual office demands.

“With Birmingham being named as having the largest number of new businesses in any city outside of London last year, we’ve recognised that scalable office solutions are needed to help companies of all sizes grow and diversify.

“The virtual office solutions we offer are a cost-effective way of starting or expanding a business with a feeling of professionalism and scale. For example, the call handling package ensures all incoming calls are answered with the client’s company name, in a professional, polite manner – giving customers the impression they have their own offices in this impressive area of Birmingham”

Each floor of the five-storey Georgian building spans approximately 1,000sqft, with the basement playing host to the 14-delegate conference room and Bar 11 event space, while the ground floor features a sophisticated reception area and two further meeting rooms, which hold six delegates each. The third floor offers an open and airy co-working space, offering all the hot-desk services that a professional could want from broadband and printers to kitchen facilities.

Hannah Campbell, Director of Business Centre at Grosvenor House, said: “We’ve seen a growth in the number of companies implementing flexible working options for employees, as well as freelancers in the UK, and with it the demand for flexible business services and agile working space.

“Having only launched in August last year, we’ve already signed in excess of 100 virtual & co-working clients and received great interest across a whole host of industries, from architects and interior designers, to jewellers and locksmiths, so it’s been a great start for Grosvenor House”

Grosvenor House’s dedication to servicing start-ups and businesses doesn’t stop there, as it also provides quarterly networking events offering professionals a chance to meet like-minded individuals and develop valuable relationships. The next event will be held on February 16th from 5pm to 8pm.
