Birmingham health tech company wins place on prestige programme

Breaking Free chosen as 2017 Commonwealth Export Champion.

Innovation Birmingham Campus-based digital health scale-up, Breaking Free Group, has been announced as one of just 26 exciting new British businesses selected for the prestigious Commonwealth Export Champions programme.

Creators of a pioneering digital healthcare platform targeting addictive behaviours, Breaking Free’s team of behavioural scientists have developed an evidence-based automated treatment programme targeted at alcohol and drug misuse.

With an impressive portfolio of national clients and major charities including CGL and Turning Point, Breaking Free Group also announced a partnership with NHS England to deliver the world’s first online healthcare intervention in prisons in 2014.

Representing various regions of the UK and business sectors, the Export Champions underline the depth of innovation and quality that the UK SME sector has to offer and are selected based on their potential for innovation, level of impact and ambition. Whether early stage or long established, each Export Champions will receive unique access and support in their pursuit to win new business in the fast-growing Commonwealth markets.

Other cohort products and services include; aircraft production covers, turbines that capture air movement into automotive energy, online services for mental health, automated drone servicing platforms, as well as hydroponics and three-dimensional crop production.
