Buckets of cash help fund new initiative.
Birmingham start-up Buckt has hit its crowdfunding target after a successful two month campaign.
The business, founded by entrepreneur Daniel Bridgewater, has managed to secure £5,000 to enable them to launch in the West Midlands in January.
Buckt is a mystery subscription box inspired by the idea of a bucket list. Each month subscribers get 8-10 activities delivered to their door for as little as £15.Each box includes tickets to top venues and attractions, exclusive discounts on higher end bucket list activities, invitations to obscure activities reliant on participation, and money-can’t-buy challenges.
As well as smashing their crowdfunding target, the start-up – which is the first of its kind in the UK – has achieved early success. The business recently announced that it has successfully managed to secure a place on the exclusive Amazon Launchpad development programme. Through the scheme, businesses are provided mentoring and support to help them successfully grow and scale using Amazon.
Alongside this, founder Daniel was one of five invited to pitch to ‘dragons’ and a live audience at the entrepreneurial festival MADE16 in Sheffield. The business was also a finalist for the Baldwins Kickstart competition ran by national accountancy firm Baldwins, where they competed for a £20,000 prize.
When asked about the crowdfunder, Daniel stated: “It has been a challenge but I’m over the moon to finally hit the target! The belief people have shown in the brand, which was only an idea a few months ago, is unbelievable.”
He continued: “This is going to allow us to launch with a bang! Our first box, set to go out in January, is full of phenomenal activities that I know our subscribers are going to love”.
Buckt, which states its mission is “to make people feel alive again”, has already secured some big businesses for their boxes including a national chain of ice rinks, a provider of helicopter tours, a coding academy, a live music promoter and a national football team amongst many others.
Subscribers can expect an inspiring box worth over £100 in January. You can sign up for yours at www.buckt.uk.
