Theatre, comeday and cinema take centre stage.

On the back of her hit BBC Radio 4 comedy series Deborah Frances-White Rolls the Dice, which won the Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy, the stand-up comedian is taking to the road to share her quirky true-life tales.

Adopted as a new-born baby and raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, the now atheist stumbled across some information about her birth mother. The resulting round the world treasure hunt is both compelling and hilarious.

Steven Arnold, best known as Ashley Peacock in Coronation Street, will take on the role of Charlie Chaplin in an upcoming show. The heart-warming and hilarious musical plays tribute to one of cinema’s earliest and greatest comedians. Steven is joined on stage by Emmerdale’s Rachael Wood and a cast of six West End actor-musicians who play an impressive 20 instruments between them.

This nostalgic and vibrant show tells the story of Chaplin’s modest and troubled childhood growing up in the gutters of Victorian London. The action then turns to Chaplin’s early showbiz career on the Vaudeville stage, through the primitive years of early Hollywood and finishes with his big breakthrough role in film which made him a household name – The Kid.

A feast of summer films is also coming to the Artrix cinema this June and July.

In Eye in the Sky Helen Mirren stars as Colonel Katherine Powell, a military officer in command of an operation to capture terrorists in Kenya. Mirren also stars in The Audience which will be screened in June in celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Aspiring opera singer Florence Foster Jenkins, has a long road to travel before she makes it to the stage. Meryl Streep takes the lead in this heart-warming film with Hugh Grant as her co-star.

Growing up in poverty in India, Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar earns admittance to Cambridge University during WWI. The Man Who Knew Infinity tells of his struggle to become a pioneer in mathematical theories with the guidance of his professor, G.H. Hardy.

In the brilliantly witty Love and Friendship, based on Jane Austen’s novel Susan, Kate Beckinsale plays Lady Susan Vernon, a widow with a mission. It’s the first time for many years that Beckinsale has played this kind of role and she has already received outstanding reviews for her performance.
