Best places to eat, drink and sleep honoured.
Many of Birmingham’s top food names gathered at the Edgbaston cricket ground to celebrate, reward and highlight the great work done within the city’s hospitality industry.
The inaugural Birmingham Food Drink & Hospitality Awards was held on Monday 6th June at the prestigious sporting arena, which is making a name for itself by hosting high profile events. The event, hosted by celebrity TV personality and proud Brummie, Alison Hammond raced along at a brisk pace and the attendees were pleasantly entertained.
The Awards are the first of their kind, including a plethora of categories celebrating everything from the best fine dining restaurants, oriental restaurants, most popular street food to best chef, best restaurant manager and best food and drink blogger, to name a few. Entertainment on the night included dance performances by ‘Desi Nach’ which kept the atmosphere filled with glee as well as the show girls who greeted people on the night with their long, slender feathers.
Charity partner Love Brum raised £2000 for Birmingham and District Deaf Children’s Society which was voted by the guests out of three proposed charities.
From the Michelin Star establishment Purnell’s who won two awards on the evening to Pop up Street food brand Low ‘N’ Slow, from the independent to the national brand of the people of Birmingham attended with a common goal, to create an atmosphere within the hospitality industry where the city is known for its quality and customer service, we can say with great confidence we have done ourselves and the city proud.
