Landmark for popular food event.
Harborne’s monthly Farmers Market will celebrate it’s 10th anniversary this weekend, on Saturday 9 April, from 9am-2pm.
Organisers Sketts Quality Events will mark the occasion with balloons and a birthday cake, as well as live entertainment and steel pan sounds from Jamma throughout the day.
Following the cutting of the cake at midday, the celebrations will also see the first 100 people to join Sketts Quality Events on the day receive a goodie bag, filled with local produce and goods from the market’s traders. Amongst the day’s offerings there will also be the usual quality selection of baked goods and cakes, cheeses, wine, and fresh vegetables to name a few, as well as a hog roast.
Established by Sketts Quality Events back in 2006, the Farmers Market has since become a favourite fixture in Harborne, hosting more than 25 local traders, all from within 50 miles, each month. Taking place on Harborne High Street on the second Saturday of every month, it has quickly gained a reputation for being one of the most successful Farmers Market in Birmingham.
Lachlan Macpherson, member of the Harborne Business Association committee said: “The Farmers Market is a hugely popular highlight of Harborne’s monthly calendar, attracting lots of visitors from both locally and from across wider Birmingham every month. It’s fantastic to see how much the market has grown over the last ten years, and wish them continued success over the coming years here in Harborne. We’re sure Saturday is going to be a fantastic day celebrating their 10th birthday!”
