Don’t dress for dinner

Farcical scenes set for Lichfield.

The Lichfield Players are adding the finishing touches to their performance of this hilarious Marc Camoletti farce showing in the Studio theatre at the Garrick from 19th April.

With his wife away, Bernard plans a romantic weekend with his mistress at his country house just outside Paris. The cordon bleu cook’s been booked, and as a cover Bernard invites best friend Robert to join him. But when Bernard’s wife Jacqueline cancels her plans because she hears her secret lover Robert is spending the weekend, only chaos can ensue! With mistaken identities, confused alibis and twists and turns rife, Bernard and Robert are forced to improvise at breakneck speed to try and keep their activities decidedly covert.

Lichfield Players show director Jim Worrallo is thrilled with the cohesion amongst the cast with two new members of the Lichfield Players delivering strong comedic performances amongst some long standing members. “One of the great aspects of the Lichfield Players is the provision of an artistic platform and opportunities for people new to the society as well as our well-known local actors and actresses,”.

“The sheer pace and comedy were fundamental in our choosing this hilarious sit com style play. We are performing a brilliant piece of entertainment that will appeal to the whole family and we are excited about the performances” he added.

A smash hit in Paris, followed by a six year run in London, Camoletti’s farce is so fast paced it will leave audiences breathless!

Showing from Tuesday 19th to Saturday 23rd April, the show is selling well and so book your tickets with the Garrick box office at the earliest opportunity on 01543 412 121 or via the Lichfield Players new website www.lichfieldplayers.org
