Wolverhampton firm on track for good causes

Pallet-Track raises £13,000 for childrens cancer charity.

Staff and customers of Wolverhampton-based logistics provider Pallet-Track have raised £13,000 for Children with Cancer UK; a national charity which funds research, welfare and campaigning projects for young people with all kinds of cancers.

Raising the phenomenal sum over the course of the last financial year, the award-winning company hosted several events including a gala dinner, a depot members’ golf day and staff FLT Driver Challenge to build upon last year’s total by more than 50 per cent.

Every year Pallet-Track nominates a charity partner which they will support over the following 12 months.

Jayne Falconer, corporate account manager at Children with Cancer UK, said: “We are extremely grateful to the team at Pallet-Track, and the organisation’s depot members and sponsors for the generous donation. Almost 4,000 children and young people across the UK are diagnosed with cancer every year and the money raised will be invested in life-saving research and treatment for all of those affected.

“Thankfully, survival rates for childhood cancers have increased drastically over the past 50 years but one in five children will still find no viable treatment options and will sadly lose their lives to cancer.”

Nigel Parkes, founder and managing director at Pallet-Track, said: “The work carried out by Children with Cancer UK is vital and I am extremely proud of the staff, depot members, sponsors, suppliers and customers who helped raise this money.

“Pallet-Track experienced a very successful 2015 and it is only right that we should do our part to give to those less fortunate than ourselves, especially those who suffer from this horrible disease which effects far too many families.”

The Pallet-Track team made an additional donation of £1,500 to two local charities. High Flylers received £750 of this money, which was raised through Casual Fridays and coffee mornings, and an additional £750 has been awarded to Wings Support – both of which were voted for by staff at the logistics company’s Wolverhampton hub

Nigel continued: “Our dedicated staff once again did a great job of fundraising this year so the additional money raised through office activities was donated to the local causes which were close to their hearts.”
